Hanging Out at the Neighborhood Church
Churches have been around for centuries, but modern transportation is relatively recent. Traveling more than a few miles to get to church was often a problem throughout history. This is one of the main reasons there are many churches in every community. While an entire community may have all been of one faith, it was sometimes difficult for people to travel to attend church. As communities expanded, more churches were built. This enabled people to travel by foot or horse and buggy to attend church on time.
Modern transportation makes miles easier to conquer, but neighbourhood churches are still popular today. The reason for this is to allow neighbourhood children to attend church events during the week. After school programs have become popular with children and their parents. The children enjoy time spent in activities, and their parents know their children are supervised after school.
